A free workshop for firms on performance appraisal was held at the Kingsway Centre, Scunthorpe, in October, organised by Keith Butler, of the University of Hull, and Colin Guthrie, of Kingsway Consulting.

The workshop dealt with effective performance management system including appraisal schemes and reward systems. It also included techniques to encourage poor performers to improve, up to and including, the sanction of dismissal.

The workshop was delivered by Dr David Bright of Hull University Business School.
